Assistant or Associate Professor of Animal and Food Sciences. 86% Research, 9%Teaching, and Service (5%) missions of the Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and the Environment, twelve-month tenure eligible position in the Regular Title series. The earliest anticipated start date is January 1, 2025. Specialization: Reproductive Physiology

The successful candidate will develop a research program focused on reproductive physiology in livestock and/or avian species, with the dual objective of providing solutions to emerging agricultural challenges and creating high value biomedical models. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an extramurally funded research program, conduct both independent and collaborative research related to reproductive physiology and to contribute to a strong undergraduate and graduate program in Animal Sciences. Teaching expectations include graduate courses in the biology of reproduction and assisting with mammalian endocrinology or courses within the candidate’s area of specialization and contributing to undergraduate courses as requested. The candidate is expected to be involved in the training and mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students. The successful candidate will also be expected to work closely with extension educators and partners in allied animal industries towards a common goal of fulfilling the college and departmental missions.

A Ph.D. in Animal Science or a closely allied field. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated potential for excellence in research, teaching, and grantsmanship. Postdoctoral experience in animal science or in related fields is encouraged. Applicants must possess a demonstrated record of peer-reviewed scientific publications, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a desire to collaborate with others in a collegial team environment. The ability to work in interdisciplinary and crossfunctional environments is important.

The University of Kentucky has laboratory and animal (swine, poultry, sheep, rodents, and rabbits) facilities on campus and farm animal research facilities at the Maine Chance Equine Campus and C.
