Location: Lexington, KY

The Community and Economic Development Initiative of Kentucky (CEDIK) seeks a highly qualified individual to join our leadership team as the lead for our Rural Health Economics Research Program. CEDIK is a unit in the Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment with faculty and staff in several academic departments. CEDIK’s scope of work covers the land grant mission of the University, research, extension, and instruction; however, this position will be focused on rural health economics, public health, and economic development. CEDIK’s research programming is supported through competitive grant funding as well as contracts awarded by organizations and communities within Kentucky. This individual would be responsible for leading two major research projects funded by the Federal Office of Rural Health Policy and the CDC, in addition to other work funded by the USDA’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture. This individual will be responsible for initiating research ideas, performing comprehensive literature reviews, conducting econometric analyses, preparing reports, and submitting manuscripts to peer-reviewed outlets. In addition, this individual will provide support to CEDIK’s Brownfield technical assistance program.

Education/experience: a Masters’ Degree in economics, public health, public policy or a related field is required. The individual is expected to have at least 5 years of experience working in a related field.

KSAs: MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint experience required. Proficiency in Stata, R, and/or SAS. Manuscript writing experience preferred.

Must be organized, able to prioritize work, and work on multiple projects simultaneously. Must work well as a team player, and perform well under deadlines.
