Location: Lexington, KY
Our Cooperative Extension program requires a highly qualified veterinarian to coordinate specialized One Health training sessions for our Extension agents and provide animal health expertise to Kentucky producers and industry stakeholders. This position will bring advanced knowledge and expertise in veterinary medicine, with a strong focus on areas such as animal health, welfare, disease prevention, intersection with human health, and treatment.
This Senior Veterinarian will effectively communicate complex veterinary/animal health concepts to a diverse audience of Extension agents, empowering them with the skills and knowledge necessary to support our local communities. Additionally, this position requires specialized DVM licensure and clinical expertise to serve as Extension coordinator as part of a transdisciplinary team to build a new One Health Center focused on building health partnerships with medical professionals across UK Healthcare and animal/human research (i.e. developing Extension statewide responses to zoonotic diseases that impact animal and humans).
