Location: Lexington, KY
The Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food & Environment department of Entomology seeks a Human Resources Coordinator. The Human Resources Coordinator is a key member of the Entomology Department’s management team, providing key insight to the Chair on administrative and personnel issues. The position supports the departments mission of improving the quality of human life and protecting our environment through a better understanding of insects and related arthropods byhandles the administration of all personnel matters in the department including position descriptions, recruiting, appointments, and effort distribution initiating personnel actions and reporting procedures. Additional duties include oversight of time/leave; coordinating personnel-related record keeping and managing departmental personnel files. This positions needs to maintain knowledge of university HR policies and procedures and ensure that the department is in compliance. The positions also advises faculty and staff on university recruitment and hiring procedures; serving as the department’s primary contact with International Student and Scholar Services in the UK International Center; actively engaging in helping to make faculty, staff, and students in the Department of Entomology more successful in their professional and academic roles and maintaining confidentiality. Additional duties include preparing reports, reconciliation, processing procurement card transactions, processing payment request documents (PRD’s), and working alongside the administrative assistant to greet and service any member of the department, college, university, or the general public who may call upon the department.
